Everyone who loves theatre has one playwright that changed the way they think of theatre. Reading and then seeing Zoo Story early on was that for me. Seeing The Goat or Who is Sylvia? some 30 years later was all I needed to make Albee my absolute favorite male American playwright. And then there is Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. I saw the movie before I could possibly understand what was happening and disliked the female roles. Check Goat movie review below.
Years later saw the play and then the movie a couple of times again and realized it’s stunning beauty and gut-wrenching perfectness.

Goat movie review, rating & response
Goat review: I love big, beautiful heartwarming musicals and comedies that make you laugh and laugh. But it is Albee’s plays that pierce individual struggle thru all of the humanity like a toothpick into my sad, bitter hamburger heart and make me love and understand everyone. “If you have no wounds, how can you know if you’re alive?” RIP.
